Presentation Format

Your group will prepare a thirty-minute presentation. The goal of the presentation is to educate your peers about your topic area. The topics are very broad, so your group will need to focus on one area and prepare a presentation that is engaging, interesting, factual, and relevant to African American high school students.

Everyone in your group must participate in the presentation. Your group will need one person to introduce the topic and another to summarize and facilitate the discussion with the audience. The remaining group members must each present information about the topic, citing sources used when asked. Your group can be creative and use visuals, PowerPoint, posters, etc. to enhance and enrich the presentation, but these visuals must be professional. Your group will then spend 15 minutes engaging the audience in discussion. You should prepare discussion questions, but also allow time for questions from the audience. At the end of the presentation, each person in your group will introduce him/herself and the school that he or she attends.

Each student needs to provide the sources used for the presentation and give this information to your peer mentor. All sources will be typed and sent to you at the conclusion of the Forum.
