Citation Management

Yikes, don't let your citations get out of control.

Bibliographic management software (EndNote, RefWorks, Zotero, or others can help). EndNote software is available from computers in Morgan Library.

  • EndNote X2 Guide, CSUL
Basic information about how to use the EndNote software.
  • Zotero
Firefox extension, free, helps manage your research

Citation Styles for the Sciences

Many different citation styles are used in the sciences. Some include styles by groups or associations such as the Council of Biology Editors (CBE), American Fisheries Society (AFS) style for authors, and others.

Some styles are defined by the journal where that style is used: Ecology (used by the journal Ecology).

Other Citation Styles

For general classes and papers, the mostly commonly used citation styles include MLA, APA, Chicago or Turabian. Below are links for the more general citation styles.
