BACKGROUND

I joined the CSU Libraries in Spring 2011.  I come to the Libraries with training in the ecological, agricultural and environmental sciences having conducted research at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in the Departments of Ecology, Evolution and Behavior and Entomology.  I hold a BS in Ecology, Evolution and Behavior from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, an MS in Environmental Studies from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, Scotland and an MS in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.   Within the library world, I previously worked at Minneapolis Community & Technical College and College of DuPage.

I am a member of the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL) and serve on the Science and Technology Section's (STS) Assessment committee.  I also serve on the ALA Allied Professional Association’s (ALA-APA) Salary and Status of Library Workers committee.

My research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including:

  • The effect of e-science and open science on libraries
  • New ways of accessing and preserving scientific data (e.g. institutional repositories and open access)
  •  International student information seeking behavior and use of libraries
  • Videogame collection and preservation

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outside, interacting with wildlife, biking, playing with my pets, traveling, going to concerts, watching movies, and of course, playing videogames.
