Water Resources

A guide to water, drought, & hydrology information

Information & Data About Water Quality

There are many places you may need to look to gather information and/or data about water in an area. Before you search for information, you may want to think about your question or research topic and decide do you need:

  • information about surface water (streams, rivers, reservoirs, etc.)
  • information about groundwater (wells, aquifers, etc.)
  • information about water quality (types of tests, monitoring, etc.)
  • information about water use

You may need to use information provided by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), United States Geological Survey (USGS), state or local water agencies, databases of water literature, or information from other sources.
