Seven Starting Steps

To get started on an evidence synthesis project:

Build your team
Identify your timeline
Conduct exploratory searches for existing and planned reviews on the topic and seminal/seed articles
Select an appropriate review type
Select appropriate tools and templates
Locate and read relevant methods and reporting guidelines
Identify a potential publication venue and their requirements for evidence synthesis projects

These steps help you plan for success and identify limitations and confounding factors for your project.
