Seven Starting Steps

To get started on an evidence synthesis project:

  1. Build your team
  2. Identify your timeline
  3. Conduct exploratory searches for existing and planned reviews on the topic and seminal/seed articles
  4. Select an appropriate review type
  5. Select appropriate tools and templates
  6. Locate and read relevant methods and reporting guidelines
  7. Identify a potential publication venue and their requirements for evidence synthesis projects

These steps help you plan for success and identify limitations and confounding factors for your project.
