Sometimes CSU does have both the print and electronic versions of a book. Use the library catalog to find out whether CSU has the eBook you need.
If you are a CSU student, faculty or staff member you should be able to use CSU Libraries eBooks from home. If you are a community patron, you will only be able to use the eBooks from computers in the CSU Libraries.
There are a number of issues that may prevent you from accessing a particular eBook, including technology glitches or licensing details. Contact a staff member at CSU Libraries or use the problem report form if you are having trouble accessing a specific title.
It is possible to do so, but some eBook licenses restrict the number of simultaneous users or limit the number of times an item can be borrowed over the course of a year. In order to avoid any problems, please contact the Course Reserves unit before assigning an eBook for your class to read.
The "Annotating eBooks" page contains details about doing this.
It depends on the book. Loan periods most commonly range from 1 to 7 days, and in some cases you will have the option to choose the length of the loan period. Also, some eBooks (including those in the Springer Collection) allow you to download a permanent copy of the book.
If you want to find out about a specific book, locate the book in the library catalog. Follow the link to access the book and the loan period will be specified in the eBook preview.
The "Borrowing eBooks" page contains instructions for doing this, along with instructions for downloading Adobe Digital Editions and borrowing CSU Libraries eBooks.
