Streaming Media

Find streaming videos and music from CSU Libraries and more

Requesting Kanopy Videos

Faculty can request videos directly from the Kanopy platform if you want to use it for a course. We may also accept requests from graduate students, as long as the video supports a course. Here is how to do it:

  1. Search for a video within Kanopy. Note: scroll down to the bottom of the screen to see the full selection of videos.
  2. Find the correct video and click on it. If you click and it plays, that means the video is already licensed, so you do not have to do anything further.
  3. Fill out the form that appears; this happens when the video is not currently licensed. We recommend mentioning which course it will be used for to streamline the process

That's all you will have to do! Your request will be sent to the Libraries, and, if approved, your video will be available within 3 business days.

Requesting Other Streaming Videos

You are not limited to requesting from Kanopy! Below is a list of vendors that we already have agreements with that speed up the licensing process. If you need videos from these or other vendors, please login to Course Reserves and submit a request.

Swank: a great source for feature films. They also have some documentaries, foreign films, and TV shows.

DocuSeek2: documentaries focused on the environment and social justice.
