Python is general purpose programming language. It was listed as the 3rd most popular programming language in a 2021 developer survey.

Coding and Cookies offers Spring and Fall workshops in python at CSU, and the slides to these workshops are linked below for self-paced learning. Workshops in python are generally taught using Spyder (an integrated development environment) that ships with Anaconda. More recently, Jupyter notebooks have been created to encourage workshop attendees to modify existing code examples to explore and make them their own. These notebooks on Learning Python Data Analysis and Visualization can be used by clicking the green "code" button from the GitHub link, selecting download, and then opening the .ipynb files with Jupyter Lab.
