Guides, tips, and definitions for library research.

Choosing where to search

For most types of information, you will have to search a library database.

A library database is an online collection of information you can search to find scholarly articles, news articles, book chapters, dissertations, biographies, music, videos, and much more, depending on the database you choose. It is organized to help you (the user) search and filter results in various ways to get exactly what you need.

CSU Libraries has hundreds of databases, so how do you know where to go?

Tip: Where you search depends on the type of source you need and/or what subject you're searching for.
