Electronic Resources: Troubleshooting ... and Beyond

When to use the converter:

1) When the online catalog is down

2) When our website is down

3) When SFX is down

And you know the URL of the resource or you have it bookmarked. Please read through the instructions and see two examples below.

Please Note: This tool does not work for all our electronic resources.

1. Go to https://lib.colostate.edu/help/plugins/proxy-url-converter.html This little tool will turn any URL into an authenticated CSU Libraries resource and it will pass the user through CSU’s EZProxy server.
2. Find an article or journal title that you would like to access.  If you are using a database, you will need to copy the title of the article you want.
3. Use Google or another search engine to find the journal or article you want.  Most links will work on campus automatically.  If you are off campus, copy  the URL.
4. Paste the URL into the EZProxy URL Converter at https://lib.colostate.edu/help/plugins/proxy-url-converter.html
5. Click on the “Get Proxy URL” button.
6. A proxied URL will appear in the bottom box on the page.
7. Click on the “Go to Proxy URL” link, and you will be taken to the website you need to access.  If you are off campus, you will be asked to log in using your EID and password so you can access the resource.  

1) Accessing an electronic journal:

Click on Go to Proxied URL and log in with your EID and password.
