How to Image a Computer with Clonezilla

Insert a Flash Drive Containing Clonezilla into one of the USB Ports

If the HDD or SSD is blank, the computer should boot right to Clonezilla.  You may have to initiate the boot menu for the computer to select the flash drive.  Apple computers hold down Option before the chime and select the boot device.

If this is a UEFI or Apple system, select to boot “To RAM”
On Legacy systems, select to boot to “Other modes of Clonezilla live” and then select the “to RAM” option.

Choose the Correct Language

Don’t Touch Keymap

Start Clonezilla

Device-Image

Select Location – SAMBA Server

Configure Network – DHCP

Enter Server IP Address

Enter the Domain

Enter Username

Enter Location of Images

(for loaners the path is /Clonezilla/Loaners)

Default Security

Enter Standard Password

After “Enter’ing” through this prompt.

Select Beginner Mode

Restore Disk

Select Appropriate Image

Select the Correct Disk

Loading Clonezilla to RAM will cause the flash drive to be listed here.

Skip Error Checking

Start the Imaging

Press “Enter” and type “Y” when prompted.

Imaging Will Start

Clonezilla Will Prompt When Finished

Choose “Shutdown” or “Reboot”.
