The Athletics Academic and Training Center was opened and dedicated on September 18, 2009. It is located just south of the McGraw Athletic Center. Built by the Saunders Construction Company at a cost of $7 million, it is 15,435 gross square feet in size. The 8,500 square foot training portion includes a state-of-the-art weight room, strength and conditioning offices, a nutrition center, and restrooms. This became the weight room used by all the student-athletes not part of the football program. The building’s central hallway that connects to Moby Arena features a variety of art and photographs showing the history of Aggie and Ram athletics.

The 8,500 square foot Anderson Academic Center portion features five private tutorial rooms and large study areas that include a computer lab with 30 workstations, more student workspace and offices for academic support staff. A substantial portion of the money needed to build this portion of the facility was donated by Brett and Danette Anderson.

The architecture firm of Aller, Lingle and Massey brought in RATIO Architects, Inc. of Indianapolis, Indiana to help with the design. RATIO had designed several other similar buildings at other campuses around the nation.
